Venue: McKimmon Conference and Training Center

The 2024 MEAS Symposium will be held from 8:30am-4:30pm in the McKimmon Conference and Training Center, located at 1101 Gorman Street Raleigh, NC 27606.

The McKimmon Center is easy to get to no matter your preferred mode of transportation!

  • 15-20 minute walk / 5 minute bike ride from Jordan Hall.
  • Ample free on-site parking.
  • Served by Wolfline route 51 (note service changes due to infrastructure projects in Spring 2025) and GoRaleigh route 12.

McKimmon Conference and Training Center Floor Plan. North is to the left (and there is a face compass icon unrelated to directions on the map just to drive geoscientists extra mad). The main entrance is at the bottom of the map (west), off Gorman St. Room 2 is in the upper left corner (NE), straight past the Lobby. There is a courtyard to the left of the Lobby and restrooms to the right of the Lobby directly across the hall from Room 2.

Room 2 set-up for MEAS Symposium

Room schematic: -A stage at the front of the room has a podium and a table with 5 chairs. -6 rows of 3 columns of long tables + chairs to seat 120 people face the stage. -In the back half of the room there are 7 poster boards, several tables for demos, food & drink buffet tables, and a few cocktail tables. -Outside the room, there is a long table for check-in.

Lactation room

A lactation room is available in room 146 of the McKimmon Center.

Accessibility

All facilities are located on the ground floor, including two unisex restrooms equipped for mobility impaired.
